On 9th September, War Child Music will make a very special compilation available to download from their website. It's called 'Help - A Day In The Life', and will feature new original compositions from artists such as Radiohead and Bloc Party in a bid to help the children caught up in the wars of the world today. A physical release (CD) will be available to buy one week later.
"In the past War Child has fed, clothed, healed and educated children affected by conflict on four continents. Now, as we engage with a gang of street children in Iraq, we will take them away from the violence that dominates their lives and begin a process of education which will offer them hope for the future."
Each artist will record a track for the album in under a day, and the line up for the 'Help' album so far looks like this:
Radiohead, Gorillaz, Razorlight, The Zutons, Manic Street Preachers, Bloc Party, Hard-Fi, The Coral, Elbow, Mylo and Maximo Park.
Ex-Stone Roses guitarist John Squire has been enlisted to design the cover artwork for the album.
